I observe the destiny of my hart.
Do I see my future?
Is it a reflection?
Is it a dream?
Do I see the name of my identity written?
Is It a realisation?
Are we African?
How come that we are not and that we are?
Can I not say it?
Is it a crime to say it?
Do I disturb the world by carring the name of
my identity, African?
I am African, is that an offence?
Does my African name sound loud?
Am I judging history by being African?
Do I blame someone or do I have to please
the the world to be accepted as an African?
No way!
It is my vital right to exist as who I am, African!

MY NAME IS HUMAN

Modou Lampfall - artist, founder and supervisor of Lampfall Foundation and Bantaba Ballet group.

Thinking globally and acting locally.

All our artists, cultural and educational activities in Holland are our contribution to the world community in Amsterdam and the Netherlands

Lampfall Foundation was established in 1994 in Amsterdam in order to promote African arts, tradition and culture, as well as to stimulate integration of different cultures on spiritual and creative bases.

The Lampfall Foundation is represented by an artists´ community, which dedicates its artistic and cultural activities to a humane deed in Africa.

The Foundation consists of the Shop/Gallery of African arts and crafts, the Bantaba Ballet group (formed in 1996), and a project in development. As well Lampfall Productions is also organizing festivals, concerts and parties, and doing interior decoration.

Activities of the Foundation are Bantaba Dance and drumming classes for adults and children. Students are getting the opportunity to learn to play on Djembe, Doumdoum and other african percussion instruments. Dancing and drumming are based on very traditional African stiles. Other activities are workshops to prepare traditional African food and Wolof language lessons for beginners. There are also evenings of Baifall chanting, traditional Sufi Chanting from Touba.

Lampfall Foundation is thought as a social meeting point for people who are interested in African culture and tradition.

There are various creative and social projects realized by african and western artists. In this way we are stimulating integration between our cultures.

Foundation has opened its doors for each and everyone willing to participate, being an active or supportive member. Contact us now.

Across the Doorsill

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don't go back to sleep!
You must ask for what you really want. Don't go back to sleep!
People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open. Don't go back to sleep!
